Games in 90’s by aunty loh

Uncle chan previous entry “Our Childhood Memory in 80’s Malaysia” has bring me back to 20 years ago. Time fly really fast. Technology change alot in this 20 years. Children in year 1990 and 2000 are totally different in the way they behave, their attitude, their life stlye, their entertainment etc. These all are definitely affected by the dramatic change of technology throughout the world. As time goes by, games that i used to play when i was small are slowly and slowly eliminate in the following years.

Hereby, i would like to introduce toys/things which has accompanied me to grow up from a lil girl to a lady in the past 20 years.

I have alot of story book since i was small.  All aunty and uncle used to buy story book for me as Birthday Present. I appreciate it a lot and i keep it well until today.

These are the story books i read when i was small. The stories are interesting, pictures are colorful and wording are clear.  These are for my early stage education.

I like to collect sticker in my early age. I have alot of different stickers such as Mickey Mouse, Snow white, toms and jerry, animal etc. I keep my collection into “sticker book”.

Other than that, i like to collect Bookmark as well. Dang Dang Dang… here are my bookmark.

I like to collect alot of idol/singer photo, poster and card.

I have a notes book with my handwriting lyrics. I used to bring this notes book to school and share the lyric with my classmate. We sing together when teacher is not in the class or after class. These notes book recorded all the pop song in 90’s.

In 90’s, i used to buy 555 note book in Supermarket. It is only RM0.05 per note book. I used it to record friends particular, homework need to be completed and as diary.

I played Alibaba Card, Happy Family, Old maid card, Tarzan Card etc together with my siblings.

My mum bought me some simen model and i color on it by using water color.

I enjoyed coloring very much. So, everytime i went to supermarket, sure i will ask my parent to buy me a Coloring Book.

In 90’s, i wrote letter or post card to my friends for greeting of Birthday or festival. So, I have a big box to keep all the cards or letters that i received from friends.

There was a time that is popular to buy the materials and DIY a necklace. I still keep it well for my so so artwork. hehe.

When i am free, i played Cooking (Masak-Masak) together with my elder sister.  Sometimes i act as a chef and she is the customer or vice versa.

I remember last time there is a machine, that people has to drop in some coin and twist for an egg. There is a mystery gift inside the egg. Usually i get this inside the egg.

I have a tin of Paper Doll. I don’t think nowadays still can get it from market.

Last but not least, it was my most favourite collection! Dang Dang Dang…. here is all my barbies doll…. They have been kept in cupboard for long time edi…pity… for blogging purpose, i take them out and have a breath of fresh air. hehe.

The above is only a small part of games that has accompany me grew up. There are some other games which i didnt include inside this post. During free time, i also played Lego, Monopoly, acting as DJ, acting as teacher, playing Pepsi Cola, AEIOU, Hide and Seek, Police and thief etc. As i grow up, these games are gradually walk out from my life. In future, i would like to intoduce these traditional games for my children. These games instead of Computer games would definately bring them more happiness and memorable childhood.
