Kolok Mee Recipe by aunty loh

Yeah..i am finally come back to my home sweet home after 8 days working at Kuching, Sarawak. Today, my flight depart on 11am and landing on Peninsular Malaysia around 12.45pm. Then,  go shopping at duty zone in KLIA, bought some chocolates and finally took taxi back Ipoh at 1.45pm. After a long journey, eventually, i reached home at 5pm. Then, have a sequence of rubbish talk with unclechan in phone. After that, i begin to show my KUNGFU at kitchen. Ngek Ngek Ngek. I’m thinking to surprise  Mum and Dad with a table of delicious dishes for dinner when they come back from work. Ngek Ngek Ngek..

Since I have bought some aunty stuff from Satok Market (a famous Sunday Market at Sarawak) such as 1kilo raw kolok mee, salted fish and petai. KEKE. So, i am going to cook my dinner tonight with the raw materials which  I “xin xin ku ku” bought from the other land separated with South China Sea.

Have u ever ate Kolok Mee before? In fact, this mee only can be found in Sarawak, but, unclechan just told me that Kl also sold that kind of mee. =.=. Whatever lah, Sarawak Kolok Mee is the most original 1. I have learned some recipe from colleague at Sarawak and this is my very 1st time to cook this Kolok Mee. HUH, can u believe, it is as delicious as i eat at Sarawak..my parent rate me 7 stars?! keke.

Ingredient needed:-

5 onions.

300g pork

Soya sauce

Cooking Oil

Sarawak Pepper Powder

600g Kolok Mee

1. Cut the onions into slice.

2. Chopped the pork into small pieces, loosen the kolok mee and put it aside.

3. After preparation of all the ingredients, add in some cooking oil into wok. When cooking oil is hot enough, add in the onions and fried it until golden colour, then, put it in a bowl aside.

5. Pour in some cooking oil into wok again, wait until it is hot enough then add in the meat. Fry it until golden colour,  add in a pinch of salt and mix it.  Then, take it out into a bowl and put aside.

6. Now, prepare a wok of water and heat it up. When it is boiled, add in the kolok mee.

7. Stir well the kolok mee until it is soft.

8. Take out the Kolok Mee (without water) and put it on a plate. Then, add in the fried onion, sufficient Soy sauce and stir it well.

9. Add in some Sarawak Pepper powder and mix it.

10. Finally, put the fried meat on top of it. Dang Dang Dang… It is ready to eat!

See… Isn’t the steps are Easy? It taste better if you add some Vegetable (Sawi) or Cha Siew on it.  ( I do not add in bcoz no stock in my fridge :P )

Chiang Chiang Chiang.. This is my surprise for my parent for today dinner. Besides the main actor tonight –> Kolok Mee, i also cooked Sambal Petai (mum and dad favorite dishes) and Yellow Melon Soup (My Favourite) . This is the first time they try Kolok Mee, because they never been Sarawak before. Luckily, my Kolok Mee give them a good impression. Clap Clap Clap. After 1 week didnt accompany them, I must treat them good good and eat big big. KEKE.

Show off my side dishes 1st… hehe..
