Not everyone eat Petai because of its bad smell, but for people who like it, they say Petai “Yummy!”. It is the same like why western people doesn’t like Durian while Asian People can’t live without it. Not to say so far away, my home already have a very good example to show the difference. My eldest and youngest brother hate Durian and Petai very much, while we love it very much.Keke. There were few times my mother offers RM50 for each of them to eat a piece of Durian or Petai, but, they just refuse it without any hesitation. They said, it just like people eat “shit”. Haha.

Actually Petai is very healthy for us. Some research showed that Petai contain a type of Protein that known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier! It also stimulate the production of hemoglobin in blood, reduce the blood pressure & stroke, boost brain power, overcome constipation, relief heatrburn etc. It also can be used externally. Before reaching for insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of petai skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling, irritation and itchiness.

When compare it to an apple, it has 4x protein, 2x carbohydrates, 5x vitamin A & iron, 3x Phosphorus and 2x others vitamins & Minerals. Since Petai is so healthy and help us to prevent substainal number of illness, so, for those who doesn’t like Petai must have a try on it and make it a MUST to add in our daily diet.
